Question about registry access

Post by Daedalo »

Hello,

first of all let me say that I am a big fan of ARM and much appreciate the effort you put into its development!

I have two questions about ARM access requests:

1) When starting up, my internal firewall tells me that ARM wants access to the Cryptography/RNG node in the registry. I am curious about why this is needed; is anything in the registry being changed?

2) ARM seems to want to access the internet from time to time outside of updates. Is it just requesting update status or is any information sent to your server? If so, what kind of information?

Thank you for your time and effort!

1) these are the areas where registry is ever accessed:
* Tool to change EU install dir, stored in registry
* Tool to check if latency fix has been applied (runs on every start up unless told not to)

2) It checks for updates on start-up and then every few hours. All it does is download a tiny text file, nothing sent
